Mental Health Awareness Week 2021

It's Mental Health Awareness Week 10-16 May, and to celebrate we have widened our Aromatherapy candle range.

It has been an extremely difficult year for all of us, many people have been affected by Covid-19, whether directly through the illness or an infected loved one, or indirectly by challenging working situations and a "new normal" to get used to. Mental health awareness and issues have come to the forefront now perhaps more than ever before. Speaking from own experience, even things like working from home have taken a great toll on people's wellbeing and mental health, whereas they may not have had this effect before the pandemic.

Mental health is no longer considered a taboo topic. In fact, it is great to see how important this subject has become over the past years, and even more so over the last year throughout the pandemic. We are being encouraged to speak about it, learn about it, reach out to friends, colleagues, loved ones and even strangers in order to help them deal with problems and support them through their journey to mental wellbeing. It is not something you can see at a first glance. Many people wrestle with mental health and stress every day, and yet the people closest to them might not even know. It's important, now more than ever, to make sure we all make an effort to be there for our loved ones, to ensure they know they can come to us for help and advice on anything.

There are many ways to help with mental health and wellbeing, just as there are many different types of issues, such as anxiety, stress, loneliness, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, PTSD and many more. Whilst some of these issues are more serious than others and require professional medical care, there are things you can easily do yourself at home to help with some of the milder conditions, e.g. work stress, anxiety and head aches. This Mental Health Week, we are doing our bit to help people around us manage their stress and mood levels by introducing our Aromatherapy candle range.

We have formulated a number of aromatherapy synergies using some of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy practices, creating candles that are perfect companions for yoga, meditation or just relaxing with a good book - whatever helps you relax and detox from the stressful situations you may be struggling with.
